San Antonio, Tx – While the Texas Titanium are currently being operated by the ABL with no true ownership, the league looked for a coach with a professional basketball background who would immediately add credibility to the club, and instantly gain the respect of the players.
Former pro Charlie Harper it seems, is the perfect man for the assignment.
Harper played professionally overseas as well as on foreign soil in the American Basketball Association (ABA), and he has seen a lot and has picked up loads of knowledge over the years. He intends to share his experiences and his knowledge with only those who are worthy of his time. He will keep only those who are willing to put in work, and they will be the beneficiaries of this walking village of basketball information.
“It was my job for find the right coach for the Titanium,” ABL CEO Mac Claire said. I’ve known Coach Harper for a number of years, and in recognizing that he is so basketball smart and recognizing that he is still so passionate about the game of basketball and now coaching, it was pretty easy to make the decision.”
When asked what type of players he wants, Coach Harper said that he wants guys who want to not only win but want ‘to win the right way,’ citing LeBron James and Michael Jordan when he said that even they needed to count on teammates in order for them to win championships. That said, he wants players willing to share the ball nd make other players around them better.
